American culture is constantly being filtered through the manipulation and censoring of the written and broadcasted word. Censored is a magazine and digital publication that seeks to bring awareness to the type of content we receive and filter; to attempt to find what’s closer to the truth. It’s a study on perspectives and manipulation, employing different uses of visual manipulation to show the effect words and meaning have across a variety of mediums. The print and digital formats provide the same content but different experiences, further exploring how perception and distortion can add meaning where it previously didn't exist.
